AI Security on FOX 35 Orlando | Matt Rose, Tech Rage IT
Longwood, Fla., (October 27, 2026) — Matt
Rose, CEO and co-founder of Tech Rage IT, a managed IT services and
cybersecurity company serving Orlando and Central Florida, appeared on FOX 35's
Good Day Orlando on October 26 to explain how people and businesses can better
protect their online accounts as AI tools become more common.
During the interview with anchor Amy Kaufeldt, Rose
discussed three practical steps: using passkeys where available, reviewing
applications connected to Google and Microsoft accounts, and creating unique
passwords with a password manager.
Understanding Which Apps Have Access to Your Accounts
Rose explained that connecting an application to a Google
or Microsoft account can grant ongoing access to information such as email,
calendars or files, depending on the permissions approved.
"It's kind of like a hall pass," Rose said during the
interview.
The analogy highlights why users should review account
permissions. An application may retain approved access without asking for the
account's password each time it connects. Users should check which apps are
connected, understand what information they can access and remove permissions
they no longer need.
Passkeys and Password Managers Help Protect Online
Accounts
Rose also explained how passkeys offer phishing-resistant
authentication, helping protect users from fraudulent websites designed to
capture login credentials.
For accounts that still use passwords, he discussed how
password managers can generate and store strong, unique passwords. Using a
different password for each account helps limit the impact when credentials
from one website are compromised.
Account Security Takeaways for Central Florida Businesses
The discussion gives Orlando-area business owners and
employees practical topics to address as they evaluate AI tools and other
applications that request access to company information.
Reviewing connected apps, checking requested permissions
and strengthening sign-in practices can support everyday cybersecurity efforts
across the workplace.
