Tech Rage IT’s Matt Rose Featured on FOX 35 After First AI-Powered Espionage Campaign Uncovered

Winter Springs, Fla. (November 17, 2025) - Matt Rose, Chief Experience Officer of Tech Rage IT, was featured live on FOX 35 News Plus this week to help viewers make sense of a chilling first in cybersecurity: an AI-powered espionage campaign allegedly orchestrated by a Chinese state-sponsored group.

Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI model, reported that hackers used AI agents and automated tools to carry out cyberattacks against 30 global targets—including financial firms, manufacturers, and government agencies—with minimal human involvement.

"This is the first time we've seen something at this scale run nearly hands-free by AI," said Rose. "It didn't just write phishing emails—it ran a full-blown cyber operation 24/7 without a person behind the keyboard."

Rose explained how attackers exploited rapid AI advancements—including the use of "MCP servers," which function like a home base of tools and instructions—allowing AI agents to pivot between systems and escalate attacks without tripping traditional security alerts.

"This is a wake-up call," Rose said. "Small and midsize businesses might think they're too small to matter, but automated attacks don't care how big you are. If your systems are exposed, you're on the list."

He emphasized that SMBs must stop thinking of cybersecurity as optional. "You don't need a Fortune 500 budget to build a solid defense. But you do need a partner who's staying ahead of what AI can do—good or bad."

Tech Rage IT provides proactive managed IT and cybersecurity services for growth-minded businesses across Central Florida, with a specialty in regulated industries like legal, finance, and healthcare.
