Love Letter to Tech Rage IT

11+ Years of Tech Rage

More than 11 years ago, Matt and I started Tech Rage IT with an idea, a lot of determination, and a belief that IT support could be done differently.

We wanted to build a company where clients could actually talk to their IT team, where people mattered, and where we never stopped looking for ways to get better.

I don't think either of us could have imagined what Tech Rage IT would become.

We started our journey through the UCF Business Incubation Program with just the two of us and grew into a multi-million-dollar company with an incredible team and clients throughout Central Florida. Along the way, we've been named a GrowFL Florida Companies to Watch honoree, recognized on CRN's MSP 500 three years in a row, earned a Seminole Star Award, and had opportunities to represent Tech Rage IT in rooms, on stages, in the media, and in our community that I never imagined we'd be in when we started.

But those aren't necessarily the things I'm most proud of.

I'm proud of the people who started here and grew into leaders. I'm proud of the clients who have trusted us year after year and referred their friends and colleagues to us. I'm proud that we've had years when business seemed to come easily and others when we lost clients we thought we'd have forever, had to regroup, make hard decisions, and build back stronger.

There were definitely moments when we wondered what the eff we were doing. We made mistakes, changed direction, learned from people smarter than us, and kept figuring it out as we went. Looking back, that uncertainty is part of what makes everything we've built feel even more meaningful.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, we were growing a family while we were growing a business.

Our boys have essentially grown up with Tech Rage IT. They've seen the late nights and early mornings, heard more conversations about tickets, clients, and employees than any kids probably should, and watched us celebrate business milestones right alongside family milestones.

Tech Rage IT hasn't just been something Matt and I did for work. It's been part of our family's story the entire time. We started building a company while building a life and a family right alongside it.

I'm also incredibly proud of what this journey has meant to me as a woman in the technology industry.

I've spent plenty of time being one of only a few women in the room. Over the years, I went from wondering whether I belonged in some of those rooms to being asked to sit on panels, serve on boards, speak about our industry, and help other business owners.

Being recognized as an MSP Titans of the Industry Minority-Owned/Led winner was especially meaningful. It represented more than an award. It was validation of the business we built, the perspective I brought to it, and the fact that there is absolutely room for women to lead and succeed in this industry.

Tech Rage IT helped me find my voice as a leader, and that is something I'll carry with me long after my day-to-day role here changes.

Somewhere along the way, Tech Rage IT also became bigger than Matt and me. It became a company with a strong team, leaders, systems, clients, and a future of its own.

For a long time, I think part of me believed being a good owner meant always being needed. I've come to realize that building something that doesn't require either founder to touch every decision might be one of our biggest accomplishments.

Knowing we have the right people stepping into leadership and that the company is positioned to keep moving forward gives me the confidence to make a change I've been thinking about for some time.

Over the coming days, Matt will transition into the CEO role at Tech Rage IT, while I step away from the day-to-day operations and into a shareholder and advisory role.

For me, that also means finally having the opportunity to pursue a few passions that have spent a little too long on my "someday" list.

Matt knows this company, our clients, our team, and this industry inside and out. We've built Tech Rage IT together for more than a decade, and I'm excited to see where he takes it next.

This isn't goodbye.

It's just a different seat.

Today, I get to look at what we've built and say something that's sometimes hard for an entrepreneur to say:

I'm incredibly proud of it.

I'm proud to be a founder of Tech Rage IT. I'm proud of the woman and leader this company helped me become. I'm proud of the team carrying it forward. And I'm genuinely excited to see what comes next, both for Tech Rage IT and for me.
